Allow GIFs in Slack

Messages in Slack can include animated GIFs that add a fun, visual element to your conversations. When you allow GIFs in Slack, members will be able to search for and select GIFs when composing a message. 


Enable or disable GIFs

Free, Pro and Business+ subscriptions

Enterprise Grid subscription

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.9f8e6606-41aa-40cb-a5e7-15d9aefd048e
  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then select Workspace settings from the menu.
  3. Next to Attach a GIF, click Expand.
  4. Tick or untick the box next to Enable the GIF picker, then click Save.

  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then select Organisation Settings from the menu.
  3. From the left sidebar, select   Settings, then click Organisation Settings.
  4. Next to Attach a GIF, click Edit.
  5. Tick or untick the box next to Enable the GIF picker, then click Save.

Note: Disabling GIFs in Slack will remove the GIF picker from the message field, but won't prevent members from uploading GIFs found elsewhere.
