Resume automatic payments on an India-issued credit card
Due to requirements from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Slack needs permission to continue automatically charging credit cards issued by Indian banks. RBI refers to giving this permission as registering an e-mandate on your card. To register this e-mandate, you’ll need to re-enter your payment details. This will also update your payment currency to INR.
Re-enter your payment details
Re-entering your payment details will resume automatic payments to Slack. Going forward, your credit card will be charged in INR.
From your desktop, click on your workspace name at the top left.
Select Tools & settings from the menu, then click Billing.
Click on Payment methods.
Enter your credit card details, then click on Add card.
Note: Depending on your bank, additional authorisation may be required after you click on Add card.
FAQ
What is the new requirement set by RBI?
The directive set by RBI specifies that all Indian-issued credit cards automatically processing recurring charges with the customer not present have an e-mandate registered.
The credit card that I want to use is already on file. Why do I need to enter it again?
Re-entering your preferred credit card will register an e-mandate on your card, switch your currency to INR and ensure that it’s your default card – all in just one step – so that you can resume automatic payments and comply with regulatory requirements.
Can I switch to paying with a non-Indian credit card?
Yes, you can resume automatic payments by changing your default credit card to a non-Indian credit card.
Can I register an e-mandate on multiple Indian credit cards?
Yes, you can enter or re-enter any Indian-issued card that you would like to use for automatic payments.
