Are you responsible for moving your company to Enterprise Grid? Use this series of guides that cover everything from planning to implementation. In the end, you'll be able to successfully launch, educate your company, and help others understand the power of Slack. 🚀
Launch Enterprise Grid
Let's start! Here are the main areas you'll want to focus on when introducing Slack Enterprise Grid to your company:
Structure and design
The design, structure, and size of your Enterprise Grid organization will be totally unique. Use a combination of these methods to build your Enterprise Grid:
- Migrate existing workspaces to your organization
- Move channels to break apart large existing workspaces into smaller ones
- Create new workspaces
Organize and name channels
At this stage, start thinking about how people will use channels in the workspaces you’ve laid out. Creating guidelines for naming channels is one of the best ways to keep conversations organized and makes it easier for people to find what they’re looking for.

Configure security preferences

Next step 👉🏽 Read Enterprise Grid admin controls to learn more about settings and preferences you can oversee from the Admin Dashboard.
Add apps and tools
Connect your tools to Slack and heighten your company’s workstream collaboration — with less juggling and jumping between apps.
You can install apps that connect your workspaces to third-party tools from the Slack Marketplace, or build your own internal integrations. Workspace Owners and Admins can also manage which apps are installed on individual workspaces.

Educate and drive change
Educating your company about Slack is an important phase of launching Slack. Here are some ideas to help with company adoption and buy-in:
📣 Make it clear that Slack is where you communicate
Note: Don’t underestimate how the power of company buy-in influences your rollout of Slack. Introduce Slack by email (or however you communicated company-wide, before Slack). 😉
Our customers see the best results when everyone uses Slack to communicate. This rules out any confusion around what medium an important company announcement should be sent through or where files and information are stored.
To start, we recommend the CEO or Executive Sponsor(s) post important information regularly in the announcements or #general channel — signaling to all that Slack is where work happens.
🔭 Use the Help Center and Support team
Our Help Center is chock full of useful information that can make it easier for members to use Slack and get help when they need it. Don’t hesitate to send people our way by linking to relevant help articles that contain the most up-to-date information.
We’ve always got your back and our Support team is ready to help 24/7. Invite your coworkers to feel comfortable sharing feedback or asking for our help. Contact us — we’ll look into it!
