Adjust your huddles and calls preferences

If you use Slack Huddles or calls in your workspace, there are a few preferences you can manage to tailor your audio and video in Slack.

Note: It's not possible to hide the huddles option from the sidebar on desktop, or disable the feature.

Select your default camera

  1. From your desktop, click your profile picture in the top right.
  2. Select Preferences from the menu.
  3. Click Audio & video in the left-side column.
  4. Under Camera, open the drop-down menu to select an option.

Note: This preference is only available for Slack calls, as huddles don’t currently support video.

Set your microphone preferences

You have a few options for microphone preferences:

  • Select a default microphone
  • Enable automatic gain control to ensure your voice stays at a constant level for others you're talking with

  5. If you’d like, check or uncheck the box to manage automatic gain control.

To test your microphone, say a few words and check that the input level moves up and down while you're speaking.
