Status
Message activity allows you to see how many people have interacted with a given message in Slack. By default, message activity is enabled for your organization, but owners and admins can choose to disable the feature or manage who has permission to use it.
Note:Message activity is not available for messages in private channels on the Business+ plan.
Enable or disable message activity

Workspace Owners and Workspace Admins can enable or disable message activity for their workspace:
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
Select Tools & settings from the menu, then click Workspace settings.
Click the Permissions tab.
Next to Message Activity, click Expand.
Check or uncheck the box next to Enable message activity.
Click Save.
Org Owners and Org Admins can enable or disable message activity for their organization. They can manage this for both internal channels and Slack Connect channels:
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
Select Tools & settings from the menu, then click Organization settings.
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then select Organization settings.
Next toMessage Activity for Public Channels, clickEdit.
Make a selection for internal channels or Slack Connect channels, then clickSave Setting.
Assign Message Activity Manager role

When message activity is enabled, only Workspace Owners and Workspace Admins can use it. They can allow other members to use it by assigning the Message Activity Manager system role:
Click your workspace name in the sidebar.
Hover over Tools & settings, then click Workspace settings.
Below Administration in the left sidebar, select Manage permissions. If you don’t see the left sidebar, click Menu in the top-left corner to find it.
Click Roles.
Next to Message Activity Manager, click the three dots icon and select Assign members.
Select members, then click Assign.
When message activity is enabled, only Org Owners and Org Admins can use it. They can allow other members to use it by assigning the Message Activity Manager system role:
Click your organization name in the sidebar.
Hover over Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
Choose People, then select Manage permissions.
Under Manage permissions, click Roles.
Next to Message Activity Manager, click the three dots icon and select Assign members.
Select members, then click Next.
Choose whether these members will manage the org or specific workspaces, then click Save.
