Get notified about topics you care about

 What you'll learn in 2 minutes or less: How to set up keywords so you'll get notified about topics you care about in channels you've joined.

Stay on top of projects you’re working on and get notified whenever there’s a conversation about “project xyz” (or “puppies”!) in your Slack workspace.

 

Go for it!

  1. From your desktop, click your profile picture in the top right.
  2. Select Preferences from the menu to open your notification preferences.
  3. Under My keywords, enter the words or phrases you’d like to be notified about. inputting keywords into slack notification preferences

Whenever someone uses one of your keywords in a channel you've joined, you'll receive a notification and see the keyword highlighted in yellow. Here's an example of what it could look like: getting notified when a teammate sends a message in a channel about a project called unicorn
