Manage profile details for Slack Connect

Owners and Admins can manage what information outside organizations can see when viewing member profiles in Slack Connect channels and DMs. There are two options to choose from:

  • Basic details (default)
    Name and profile photo
  • Standard work details
    Name, profile photo, title, status, local time, pronouns, and whether notifications have been paused with Do Not Disturb

Workspace Owners can decide what profile information outside organizations can see in Slack Connect conversations.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings, then click Workspace settings.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Next to Slack Connect Member Profiles, click Expand.
  5. Select an option.
  6. Click Save.

Org Owners and Org Admins can decide what profile information outside organizations can see in Slack Connect conversations. They can also set a specific setting per organization.


Adjust profile visibility for Slack Connect

  1. From your desktop, click your organization name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
  3. Click  Slack Connect in the sidebar, then select Settings.
  4. Next to Member profiles, click Edit.
  5. Select an option.
  6. Click Save.


Adjust profile visibility per external organization

  1. From your desktop, click your organization name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
  3. Click  Slack Connect in the sidebar, then select Connections.
  4. Select an organization.
  5. Next to Visibility, click Edit.
  6. Select an option for member profiles.
  7. Click Save.
Who can use this feature?
  • Workspace Owners/Admins (Pro and Business+) and Org Owners/Admins (Enterprise Grid)
  • Available on paid plans
